CWG Day 9: India wants more from shooters and hockey team
New Delhi: All eyes will be on the Indian hockey team on the ninth day of theCommonwealth Games when they clash with the unbeaten England team for aberth in the final.

India will have to put behind their 7-4 win over arch-rivals Pakistanand re-group their forces today, as a win will not only give them amaiden place in the gold medal match since hockey's introduction in theGames in 1998 Kuala Lumpur edition but will also avenge their 2-3defeat against England in the World Cup earlier this year.

Apart from hockey, India will be resting its hopes on the shooters.Gagan Narang, who is in golden form, will be representing in Men'sPairs 50 m Rifle Prone event along with Hariom Singh.

World champion Tejaswini Sawant, who bagged a bronze on Monday, willtake position in the Women's Singles 50 m Rifle Prone event with MeenaKumari. Samresh Jung, who was nicknamed Goldfinger in the last CWG atMelbourne, will also be seen with Chandrashekar Kumar Chaudhary in theMen's Pairs 25 m Standard Pistol event.

Indian shuttlers, who have so far enjoyed a successful run in theGames, will be playing in their respective semi-finals. Chetan Anand,Jwala Gutta, V Diju, P Kashyap and Saina Nehwal would be hoping bookberths in the finals of their respective events.
