Woman alleges husband harassed her for Chinese girlfriend

Bangalore: A woman in Bangalore has complained against her Singapore-based husband of harassing her after falling for a Chinese girl. Seema Fatima has registered a case against Akmal Khan at the D J Halli police station.

In her complaint, Fatima alleged that her husband was going around with Tang Sez Hwan, a Chinese girl. She also alleges that he was in a relationship with Hemlata, an Indian girl, who worked with him.

Fatima got married to Khan two years back and was living with him in Singapore since December 2009. "Once there, I learnt about Khan's affairs. When I spoke to him, he not only subjected me to mental harassment, but also tried to kill me on the pretext of playing a prank," she alleged in her complaint.

Fatima even approached Tang Sez Hwan and Hemlata and requested them not to ruin her married life. "My requests fell on deaf ears and they insulted me in my own house," she said.

She added, "When Khan learnt that I had met these women, he started harassing me even more. He asked me to get money from my parents so that he can start a new business venture."

Fatima added that, "As I didn't know whom to approach for help in a foreign country, I decided to return."

However, after she reached India, Khan asked her not to come back and told her that he's getting her dependent pass cancelled. Also, he stopped responding to her calls and text messages.

That's when Fatima decided to seek help of the police. The cops have registered a dowry harassment case against Khan.

"We'll request the court to send a legal notice asking Khan to appear before us for questioning," said a cop.

Meanwhile, Fatima's family is planning to go to Singapore to talk Khan into returning back. "We'll try to convince him to come back before initiating any action against him," a family member said.
