Two hacked to death by suspected rival gang members

Hyderabad: A history-sheeter and his nephew were on Wednesday hacked to death by a group of assailants, suspected to be rival gang members, at Kishanbagh in Old City here, police said.

A group of around seven persons attacked Sheikh Ezaj, his nephew Imraan, and another person near a function hall at Kishanbagh on Wednesday evening with sickles and other sharp weapons.

Ezaj died on the spot while Imran died while undergoing treatment at a hospital, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone), Vineet Brijlal, told PTI.

The assailants fled from the spot.

"We strongly suspect that Ezaj was murdered by rival gang members over old rivalry and a land deal," the DCP said.

Sickles have been recovered from the spot.
