Tuticorin:
A 29-year-old man was arrested on Monday on charges of raping and murdering a college girl at Reddiyarpuram near Tuticorin on Saturday, police said.
Police said the girl's body was found in a pond with injuries.
Madasamy told the police that he kidnapped the girl when she was going to dispose garbage at a nearby garden. Later he gagged her and hit on the head when she tried to raise an alarm. After she fainted, he raped and murdered her, police said.
