StanChart launches mobile ATM in Mumbai

Mumbai: Standard Chartered Bank, on Wednesday launched its first Mobile ATM in Mumbai.

The facility would allow customers to perform banking operations such as cash withdrawal, funds transfer, statement and cheque book requests, mobile and online banking registration, pre-paid mobile top-up and other such services, a press release issued here stated.

The ATM would also come equipped with a cheque drop-box and a phone-banking facility.

"The Mobile ATM will give our customers greater convenience, bringing our services at a location closest to them," Standard Chartered's Group Executive Director and CEO Asia Jaspal Bindra said.

Standard Chartered is planning to launch a second Mobile ATM within the next 6-9 months either in Mumbai or Delhi, the release said.

The bank recently launched 50 Express Banking centres in Mumbai and Delhi, which allow customers to perform a range of banking operations independently and securely. Besides money vending machines, these centres have an electronic cheque deposit box and a phone-banking kiosk.
