Sachin Tendulkar in 'Save Water' campaign

Mumbai: After batting for colas and construction brands, Sachin Tendulkar has now turned brand ambassador for Mumbai's civic authorities to promote water conservation.

In an advertisement released on Saturday, the master blaster urges the city to save water so that Mumbai can tide over its water crisis.

The CD of a 30-second commercial, featuring Sachin's appeal for water conservation was released by Mumbai Mayor Shraddha Jadhav.

The ad is to be screened on TV channels and in multiplexes.

The commercial is a part of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) 'Save Water Campaign' to sensitise Mumbaikars about using water judiciously in these times of acute shortage.

In the ad, Tendulkar, dressed in cricket gear, talks about saving water, in both Hindi and Marathi. The message in Marathi is, 'Paani wachwa, Mumbai wachwa', while in Hindi the message says, 'Paani ki raksha, Mumbai ki suraksha'.
