Samastipur:
Miscreants looted Rs 11 lakh from employees of Punjab National Bank branch near Rajendra Agriculture University area in Samastipur district of Bihar today, police said.
Pusa Police Station Officer in-charge Shiv Kumar Paswan said the incident occurred when two employees of the bank were going on a motorcycle to deposit Rs 11 lakh cash at office branch.
A jeep intercepted them and three criminals snatched the bag in which they were carrying the cash, Mr Paswan said.
The criminals fired in the open to terrorise the people, he said adding on getting information Assistant Superintendent of Police, Ameer Javed reached the spot.
Efforts are on to nab the looters, he said.
