Pune peon robbed of Rs 6 lakh

Pune: An unidentified suspect allegedly robbed Rs 6 lakh from a peon of a firm near Sindh Society, Lullanagar, Kondhwa in Pune on Thursday night. The suspect also assaulted the man with a sharp-edged weapon.

The peon, Mehboob Mohmmad Momin (70) of Hadapsar, lodged a complaint at the Wanavdi police station.

The police said Momin has been working in a company in Lullanagar for the past 37 years. He used to travel to a Rajgurunagar-based petrol pump to collect cash three times a month.

Momin was carrying the cash collected from the pump in a bag. He came to Pune Station by a PMPML bus around 6.45 pm. He shared an autorickshaw to reach Lullanagar. As he stepped out of the vehicle, a person snatched his bag.
