Over Rs 2 lakh found in unclaimed bag at IGI

New Delhi: Indian and foreign currencies totalling about Rs 2.1 lakh have been recovered from an unclaimed bag at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Friday.

Official sources said the bag was spotted lying unattended at the T2 terminal of the airport.

After a check with explosive detectors, the bag was opened only to reveal Indian currency notes besides US and Australian dollars, besides currency of another foreign country. It also carried a PAN card.

The CISF informed the Customs and the Immigration about the bag but no passenger came forward to claim it. It was then handed over to airport developer DIAL.
