Mumbai: City hospital ransacked by patient's kin

Mumbai: Irked with alleged improper treatment to a patient, some persons allegedly ransacked a hospital in Mumbra on Tuesday. No arrests were made till late evening.

According to the police, the incident took place at Rehmania Hospital, near Mumbra Bypass. Hospital's administrators confirmed that alleged miscreants were relatives of a woman, who was admitted to the hospital for delivery. Naseem Faruqi, 26, a resident of the same area, gave birth to a baby boy two days ago she and was under observation. "At 1 am one of her relatives Arif Sheikh along with two friends went to the hospital to meet her.

Suddenly, they started alleging that the hospital was not giving her proper treatment and started breaking glass panes and furniture," said Dr Rafique Sheikh, trustee of the hospital.

Sheikh added, "These persons on a rampage were under the influence of alcohol and went berserk."
