Kanpur:
A woman was killed when her five-year-old daughter "accidentally" fired from her father's revolver in Kanpur's Panki area, police said on Thursday.
The incident took place in Anjani Apartments last night.
The girl was playing with the loaded revolver while her father Ranjay Singh, sales manager at a drug company, was getting ready for some work, police said.
On seeing this, the victim, Babita (34), tried to snatch the revolver from her daughter's hands when it went off accidentally, they said.
Critically-injured Babita was rushed to hospital where she was declared brought dead, they added.
No case has been registered so far as it appeared a case of accidental firing, police said, adding that further investigation was on.
