Missing Mumbai teenager found dead; couple charged of murder

Mumbai: A teenager from Diva near Mumbra who was missing since Sunday afternoon was found murdered at Dombivli on Monday. Manpada police have arrested a couple in connection with his murder.

According to the police, Nilesh Sonar, 19, was resident of Vishishtha Apartment in Diva near Mumbra. On Sunday afternoon, he told his parents that he was going for shopping but did not return home till late night.

On Monday, Manpada police found a body in a huge suitcase, which was later identified as Nilesh. According to the police, his hands were tied and mouth was sealed with duct tape.

An auto driver informed the police that a couple, carrying a heavy bag, had hired his auto from Katai Village on Kalyan-Sheel Road to Pimpelashwar Mandir in Dombivli. They left the bag near the temple and didn't return. The shrine's watchman informed the police, this led to the discovery of the corpse.

The post-mortem report revealed that Nilesh was strangulated to death. The police arrested Prabhulal Ghadi, 20 and Prajakta Shelar, 19. Both are residents of Yash Apartment at Mumbradevi Colony in Diva. Mumbra police station sub inspector MS Nerlekar is investigating the case.
