Man Killed Allegedly by Wife's Friends in Thane; 3 Arrested

Thane:

A 24-year-old man was allegedly murdered by two men in Thane after he objected to his wife's friendship with them, police said today.

Police have registered offences of murder and destruction of evidence against the two men, identified as Prem Harchandani (24) and Gurvinder alias Sunny Kundan Singh (28), and the deceased's wife Kanishka alias Tinkle (19), Vitthalwadi police station Inspector V C Dolas told PTI.

The victim, Jagdish Thadani, had an altercation with Kanishka when she was speaking to one of the two accused men over phone on April 7, he said.

Later, the two accused came to their residence in Ulhasnagar area of Thane district and attacked Jagdish with iron rods and sticks, injuring him seriously, he said.

Mr Thadani was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai where he succumbed to his injuries on April 10, the officer said.

Initially, police had registered a case of accidental death as Ms Kanishka stated that Mr Jagdish was injured in an accident and later died at a hospital.

However, during investigation it was found that he was allegedly murdered by the two accused, Mr Dolas said.

A case under section 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) and 177 (furnishing false information) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the three, police said, adding that no arrest has been made in this connection so far, he said.
