Hisar:
Police arrested a man and registered a case of attempt to murder against him for allegedly trying to run a tractor over two Dalit women.
The incident happened near Mirchpur on Wednesday when the accused, who was allegedly in an inebriated state, reportedly got into an altercation with the two women in the field.
He then tried to run them over with the tractor.
But the victim denies there was any altercation. "I was washing the utensils. He ran the tractor over me. He was drunk, there was no tiff between us and he ran away after that," said one of the injured women.
Both the victims are in a critical condition and have been admitted to a hospital in Rohtak.
The cops acted only after irate villagers protested outside the Secretariat in Hisar. The police have also suspended the station in-charge over the incident.
