Holyman missing from Rishikesh

Dehradun: A 95-year-old self styled holyman from Varanasi who had arrived in Haridwar for the Mahakumbh is missing since April 20, police said on Saturday.

Yamunacharya Maharaj, popularly known as 'Satua baba', had expressed his desire to meditate in the jungles of Rishikesh on April 20, according to the report lodged by his main disciple and successor Santosh Das Shastri.

A driver drove the holyman to the parking of Luxman Jhula area where he got down and asked him to go back. Since then he has not been seen, Shastri told the police.
     
The holyman has ashrams at various places in the country.

A special team has been formed to find the missing, police said.
