Depressed over her mother scolding her over some issue, 17-year old student today attempted to commit suicide in Coimbatore.
The teen consumed poisonous cow dung powder while on her way to school and fell unconscious in her class room this morning, police said.
Teachers admitted her to a government hospital where doctors found she has consumed the cow dung powder.
Preliminary investigations showed that the girl's mother had scolded her last night over some issue. Dejected over this, she took the extreme step of attempting suicide, police added.
