Dehri-on-Sone: Anti-socials assaulted forest department officials and looted four rifles from them when they went to stop illegal mining in Bihar's Rohtas district on Wednesday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Kumar Mall said a team of forest officials led by forester Vijay Kumar went to Kanseruans village under Darigaon police station in the forest area to stop illegal mining and started seizing tractors laden with stones.

Anti-socials attacked them, snatched their rifles and beat them up with sticks and butts of rifles, injuring them. They were admitted to Sadar hospital at Sasaram, Mall said.
