Mumbai:
Five people were detained for questioning by the Amboli police late last night for allegedly abetting a couple's suicide, which took place last Friday.
The deceased, Amboli residents Prakash Brahmabhat and his wife Archana, had committed suicide on railway tracks near Kandivli station. The couple had flung themselves in front of a moving train around 4.40 pm on Friday afternoon.
The Borivli Government Railway Police had filed a case of accidental death. During investigations, Amboli police found a suicide note at the home of the deceased.
In the note, the couple had alleged that three people, including a policeman, were responsible for their death. They wrote that they weren't able to handle the pressure exerted by the three people, who were harassing the couple for money owed to them.
