Eight members of a family burnt to death in Solapur
Mumbai: Eight members of a Pardhi tribal group were burnt to death after people from another community allegedly set afire their hut in Nimgaon village of Solapur district, police said on Monday.

The hut belonging to a farmer Suresh Pawar was set on fire on Sunday and the dead include five children and two women.

Four persons, including a woman, have been arrested in this connection, police said. "Pawar has said old family feud was behind the fire," they added.

The deceased have been identified as Manisha (26), Neeta (18), Mahesh (5 months), Swati (3), Sanjay (6), Pirajit, (8), Chakula (9) and Raghu (11).

Nimgaon is predominantly inhabited by Pardhi tribals.

Madha is also the Lok Sabha constituency represented by NCP chief Sharad Pawar.
