CPI(M), Trinamool supporters clash, two injured

Burdwan: Two persons were injured in a clash between supporters of CPI(M) and Trinamool Congress at
Amloka in Burdwan district .

The clash broke out when a Trinamool rally was passing by the area demanding recruitment of more locals for an airport project in nearby Andal with bombs hurled and shots being fired,  police said.

Two persons - SK Amjed Ali and Sk Milan - were injured in the clash hit by bullet and bomb splinters respectively. Both are now in stable condition.

Local Trinamool leader Prabhat Chatterjee alleged the attack was carried by CPI(M) miscreants and both the injured belonged to Trinamool Congress.

He said while 67 left supporters had been recruited for the Andal project, none of the Trinamool activists were recruited.

The Trinamool Congress took out a rally in the area demanding job for others. CPI(M) leader Madan Bauri said all the locals were in support of the project and the Trinamool was only trying to derail it.
