Uttar Pradesh:
35 bonded labourers, including 10 children, from Chhattisgarh were rescued from a brick kiln in Aurai area here on Tuesday, officials have said.
A joint team of Labour department and district administration carried out a raid following complaints by labourers that brick kiln owners Rinku, Rajesh and Shailendra were forcing them to work without due payment, according to SDM Jai Nath Yadav.
Police has recorded statements of all the labourers. No arrests have been made so far. Those rescued include 10 women.
