Bareilly:
A doctor at Haldwani Medical College, who was missing since last Friday, was murdered and later his body dumped in a drain at Baradari area in Bareilly, police sources said on Tuesday.
The body of Manish Kumar, who worked as a senior resident at Haldwani Medical College, was recovered from the drain on Monday and a post mortem confirmed that he was strangulated, they said.
He recently got appointed as a doctor in Kannauj Medical College and had gone there for joining on March 31, police said.
His wife Meenakshi, also a doctor, told police that Manish called her on the night of March 31 and said that he had left for Bareilly after which his mobile was switched off.
Yesterday, the police was informed about the body lying in a drain which was identified as that of Manish on the basis of his PAN card, they said.
