Four Stone Polishing units were caught for power theft recently and a penalty of over Rs seven lakh was imposed on them.
Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company (GESCOM) caught the stone polishing units in Ingalgi village in Chittapur taluk for committing power theft by tempering meter security seals and manipulating meter recording on June two.
A penalty of Rs 7,53,732 was imposed and criminal cases were booked against them, a Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) release said.
