Ahmedabad: University of Atlanta sets up study centre in city

Ahmedabad: Students aspiring to study in the USA will not have to queue with their profile for a visa anymore, at least as far as the University of Atlanta (U of A) is concerned. The U of A has entered India and has launched its first ever study centre at Ahmedabad.

Speaking to the media at the launch, U of A's Vijay Moza, India Head and member, Board of Directors, said "We found that many Gujaratis wish to study in the USA and UK. So, instead of a cluster of students going abroad, we have brought the University here in their own city."

Ravi Swamy, Director of Admissions said that the students will have the benefit of faculties from abroad during their one year MBA programme. "We believe, achieving credits is important, which a student can achieve in six months or one year. Number of years spent is not important," he said.

Admissions have begun and classes will commence from October end. "Students have to give a written test and personal interview for the admissions."

Regarding future plans, Moza disclosed, "We are planning to set up study centres in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Delhi soon."
