Two-wheeler major Hero MotoCorp unveiled its first hybrid scooter Leap at Auto Expo 2012.
Pawan Munjal , CEO and MD of the company said Hero Leap has been developed with technological support from an international consultant. The scooter will run on battery as well as petrol.

Ashok Leyland has announced that it will launch the Optare range of buses in India in the next 4 months.
According to Vinod Dasri, MD, Ashok Leyland, the design and modelling of Optare low floor buses is already over
"The new bus and truck to be launched at the Auto Expo will really drive up volumes," Vinod Dasri told NDTV Profit.
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India unveiled its mass market 110 cc motor cycle at Auto Expo 2012 on Thursday.
The bike has been named Dream Yuga, and it will be commercially available by May 2012.
"Mid variant of this bike will be priced at around Rs 46,000 ex Delhi," the company announced.
Auto maker General Motors (GM) India said on Thursday that it has bought components worth $500 million and will source $1billion in next two years from India for overseas operations.
The company has already invested about more than Rs 5,000 crore in India.

Yamaha:
Yamaha launches scooter for girls 'Yamaha Grey'. It will be available commercially from the second half of 2012
India Yamaha Motor head, Hiroyuki Suzuki said, "Price will be disclosed at the time of the commercial launch."
He also spoke about the company's sales
"Have seen domestic sales of 3.3 lakh motorcycle units," Hiroyuki Suzuki said.
Ratan Tata will be speaking at Auto Expo at 2:30 pm, possibly on Tata Safari and Tata Nano.
"PSA Peugeot Citroen to launch its first product on a CBU model by end of 2013. We will have a top down approach to the Indian market," Frederic Sabre, MD, PSA Peugeot Citroen said.
He also announced that it will first launch an 'ultra-luxury' model in the B+ segment. It is not planning to foray into the small car segment in India yet.
