Children Walk the Ramp to Raise Money for Their Education in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: At a special fashion show organized by non-profit organization Smile Foundation on Saturday, children from economically weaker sections got a chance to walk like models on the ramp. The fashion show was organized to raise funds for the education of these children.

These children have big dreams. One of the participants Divya told us she wants to be a doctor. Some children listed being a teacher, an IAS officer, a policeman, a kabaddi coach as their dream.

The fashion show also featured professional models and fashion guru Prasad Bidappa was the coordinator. "If each one of us can sponsor the education of one child India would be so much better," he told NDTV.

Some Bangaloreans also walked the ramp with them. Former Miss India Nicole Faria, golfer Sharmila Nicollet, commentator Charu Sharma, actresses Sanjjanaa and Samyukta Hornad, CEOs and MDs of companies and actress Isha Koppikar, who flew in from Mumbai for the occasion, were the other participants.

And this reporter was happy to walk the ramp with one of the young stars, Harish. And while I was kind of nervous - young Harish, like the other bright young children, was a picture of confidence.

Children with big dreams, which we hope will come true.
