Bangalore:
A wholesale merchant who was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified persons from Bangalore's Siddapura area, was rescued from Andhra Pradesh today, police said.
According to the complaint lodged by the merchant's wife, her husband, Pradhan, was kidnapped by unidentified persons yesterday and taken to an undisclosed location.
The kidnappers subsequently made a ransom call and demanded Rs 25 lakh, police sources told PTI.
Acting on the information provided by the merchant's wife, police rescued Pradhan from Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, they said.
Further investigation was being conducted and other details about the case would be disclosed soon, the sources said on condition of anonymity.
