Ruling Shrimoni Akali Dal (SAD) has alleged that Congress workers attacked its workers and opened fire at them in Majitha constituency.
Sitting SAD MLA from the constituency Bikram Majithia alleged that a group of Congress workers led by their leader Jagwinder Singh Jagga today attacked Akali workers in village Pandori Waraich in Majitha constituency.
He said SAD workers were on their way to Amritsar when Congress men attacked and opened fire without any provocation following which his luxury car got damaged.
He demanded registration of case under section 307 of IPC against Congress.
However, Congress leader Jagga denied any involvement of the party in the clash and alleged that a close associate of SAD MLA caught distributing money in the constituency by villagers, who thrashed him and others.
Jagga said a video of the entire incident has been sent to the Election commission.
