Pasighat:
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh campaigned in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday ahead of Assembly elections in the state, in Pasighat district in central Arunachal.
The PM is not scheduled to travel to the controversial Tawang in west Arunachal. The last time he had planned to go to Tawang two years ago, the Chinese had protested.
More recently, there have been reports of Chinese incursions in Arunachal Pradesh in August. Last week, search engine Google had shown parts of Arunachal Pradesh in China which it later said was a mistake and would be rectified.
Politically, the Assembly polls will be the first major test for the ruling Congress coalition after a strong victory in the general elections.
