New Delhi: At a time when some surveys suggest another fractured verdict in Delhi, the Congress has made it clear that it will not repeat its 2013 experiment and support Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party.
"No way! We would never support Aam Aadmi Party as we feel that AAP and BJP are two sides of the same coin. They have all been together earlier. How long will it take for Kejriwal to pack up and join them?" said Congress leader Ajay Maken, who is leading the party's campaign for the February 7 assembly polls.
"We would prefer a third election and go back to the people asking for a stable government," he told NDTV.
In the last election in December, 2013, the BJP won the most number of seats, followed by AAP, but none of them could manage a clear majority. The Congress came a distant third. AAP finally took power with Congress support, but quit within 49 days.
The Congress party had recently launched a booklet titled 'U-Turns of Kejriwal' which according to the party, portrays the failures of the AAP leader.
"They deliberately don't want to talk about the Congress as they both very well know that the Congress is the dark horse in Delhi like Kejriwal was in the last elections. No one gave him 28 seats last time. Both Kiran Bedi and Kejriwal only talk about each other as the people of Delhi don't matter."
While the battle is on between BJP's Kiran Bedi and AAP's Arvind Kejriwal, Congress has still not declared it's chief ministerial candidate for Delhi.
