Bhopal: The Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati today promised to give three acres of land to each landless person and create employment for the unemployed if her party is elected to power in Madhya Pradesh.

"If my party comes to power in Madhya Pradesh then it will give three acre land each to the landless and generate employment for the unemployed in the state," Mayawati said, addressing a rally in support of BSP candidates in the Maoist-affected Balaghat district.

The BSP supremo also said that her party would contest Assembly polls in all the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh on its own and not have any truck with anyone.

Urging people to vote for BSP candidates, Mayawati said that during the last 66 years, when the Congress and the BJP were in power, no development of the "Bahujan Samaj" (depressed classes) took place.

"There was no change in the condition of the Bahujan Samaj, the poor and the minorities. Unemployment is visible everywhere," she said.

Mayawati said that central and the state governments have not done anything for landless tribals in the country, while her government in Uttar Pradesh had given Dalit landless people three acres of land free of cost.

The BSP leader said that because of landlessness, tribals get associated with Maoists. She also said that as per the Sachar Committee report, the economic condition of Muslims is bad and the Centre has failed to do anything about it.
