'It Has Taken Almost 40 Years For a PM to Come to Poonch': Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Poonch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed an election rally in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. These are the highlights:

• How long does it take you to travel to Delhi?
• I come to request you - form a BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir with complete majority.
• This isn't my first visit to Poonch. I was a BJP worker once and I have gone around this entire region in buses.
  
• I have broken bread, had tea with many families here.
• It has taken a Prime Minister of India almost 40 years to come to Poonch.
• You need two days to go from here to Delhi. But how many years has a prime minister taken to get here?
• The last time, PM Morarji Desai came here. Today, I'm fortunate to be here.
• I went to Sardar Pritam Singh's memorial as soon as I arrived.
• This Prime Minister is such that I have come to your state every month since taking office.
• Whenever I have come I have come with the intent and the message of development.
• I'm a 'pradhan sevak' who thinks your troubles are my troubles.
• 'I did not celebrate Diwali. I spent my Diwali with those who were affected by floods in this state.
• Today I've come for the first time to ask for something from you. And I have faith that I will not return empty handed
• This election will go down as the election dedicated to the people of J&K
  
• The people of J&K have, in the first phase itself, shown that democracy has won.
• You have shown that bullet can be defeated by the ballot; I congratulate you on behalf of 125 crore Indians.
• In the past 50 years, if the money that has come from Delhi was deposited in your bank accounts, you'd be amongst the richest citizens of India.
• Every Indian dreams of visiting Kashmir but if there are no railways, then how will people travel?
• Tell me, who has paid heed to your demands?
• 'Baap-beta', 'Baap-Beti' - this is the ill plaguing Jammu and Kashmir. You must rid the state of this 'bimari'.
• We are asking for votes so that we are able to bring prosperity in your lives.
• If anyone has a right to the exchequer, it is the people here. The government's money should benefit the poor.
• The things which these people think are trivial are very big things -- we didn't pay heed to this. Tell me, shouldn't there be toilets for girls in schools?
• From Poonch, I want to appeal to the whole state, don't leave your work half done.
• Vote for a government which has full majority.
