After actors Vijayakant and Sarathkumar, AIADMK on March 27 ensured the support of one more top Tamil filmstar Vijay for its alliance in the upcoming assembly elections.
Vijay's father and actor-director S A Chandrasekaran met AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa at Tiruchirappalli during her campaign and assured the support of 'Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam,' a fan's movement in his son's name, to the AIADMK combine, a party release said.
Vijay had made his political intentions clear when he staged a protest at Nagapattinam recently against the killing of Indian fishermen allegedly by Sri Lankan Navy.
Vijayakant's DMDK and Sarathkumar's AISMK have already entered into a poll pact with Jayalalithaa to face the polls and have been allotted 41 and three seats, respectively.
