Shrien Dewani, accused of wife's murder, fights extradition
London: British-Indian Shrien Dewani, accused of hiring a hit man to kill his wife during their honeymoon in South Africa, will ask Britain's High Court to overturn the government's order that he be extradited to the African nation to stand trial.

Lawyers for Mr Dewani will give evidence at a two-day hearing that begins on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say Mr Dewani arranged the murder of his 28-year-old wife, Anni, who was found shot dead in an abandoned taxi in Cape Town's deprived Gugulethu township in November 2010.

A taxi driver, Zola Tongo, has been convicted of murder and says Dewani offered him 15,000 rand (about $2,100) to arrange the killing and make it look like a carjacking. Home Secretary Theresa May approved the extradition of 31-year-old Mr Dewani in September.

Mr Dewani has denied involvement in his wife's death.
