New Delhi: "Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself." - Leo Tolstoy

Leo Tolstoy, the Russian born political thinker, philosopher and writer is behind some of the most important contributions to the world literature.  On Tolstoy's 186th birthday, this Google Doodle remembers the man by exploring the realms of some of his greatest works.

Tolstoy's wide variety of work includes novels, short stories, plays and essays. His finest literary creations such as War and Peace, Anna Karenina and The Death of Ivan Ilyich, while made history, still continue to inspire people.

Some of the most influential figures of the twentieth century are said to have been inspired and profoundly impacted by works and doctrines of Tolstoy, including Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr. and James Bevel.
