New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is addressing the United Nations General Assembly.

  • For decades, attempts had been made to resolve the Kashmir dispute. The core issue of Jammu and Kashmir has to be resolved. This is the responsibility of the international community
  • Congratulate Afghan leadership... hope the process of Afghan-led reconciliation would move forward 
  • Pakistan has launched a massive operation to eliminate terrorism, complimentary efforts on the Afghan side of the border are needed
  • Convey Pakistan's condolences and sympathies to the people of Palestine... we welcome the ceasefire. The UN should facilitate a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue
  • There should be no new permanent seats in the UN Security Council
  • Pakistan has maintained highest standards of nuclear security and stability. Pakistan is a mainstream partner in the international non-proliferation regime
  • Pakistan ought to be a part of the nuclear supplier group, also qualifies for full access to civil nuclear technology
