Rush in the skies for India-Pak semi-final at Chandigarh
Chandigarh: How important are the VIPs heading to Mohali for the India vs Pakistan game? Important enough to own their own planes, in several cases.

Sources in the air force say that up to 46 applications have been received so far for planes to land at the Chandigarh airport on Wednesday. The requests range from an A320 to smaller private planes.

Eleven commercial flights are also scheduled to land in Chandigarh ahead of the game, which starts at 2:30 pm.

Dr Manmohan Singh's plane and Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Gilani's fight will land at the technical area part of the Chandigarh airport.

Sources say most planes will be asked to fly back to Delhi after their passengers disembark. Others may have the option to part at the Dehradun or Amritsar airports.
