Woman gives chase to thief who snatched her purse in train

Kesargod: A woman passenger suffered minor injuries attempting to retrieve her bag containing Rs 1.5 lakh cash taken away by a man while travelling in the Newdelhi-Ernakulam Mangla Express in the Kesargod today.

The woman, travelling along with her huband and child, chased the thief and managed to get a hold on to her bag but both fell down even as the train was moving at a slow speed crossing Kanhangad railway station in the district, police said.

The train was stopped immediately but the man managed to escape under the cover of darkness, police said adding the woman sustained minor injuries on her hand.
