Tamil Nadu Governor Hosts 'At Home' Reception

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today hosted the customary 'At Home' reception which was attended by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai and many other leaders.

The Governor hosted the Independence Day reception at the Raj Bhavan which was also marked by cultural programmes such as Bharatnatyam, Bihu dance and Ranapa Dance, an official release in Chennai said.

Those present for the reception included First Lady, K Sivalakshmi, former Odisha Governor KK Rajendran, Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal, state Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Chennai Mayor 'Saidai' S Duraisamy, Chief Secretary MV Chunkath and DGP K Ramanujam, it said.

The Governor released tricolour balloons marking the 68th Independence Day, the release said, adding, he earlier unveiled a statue of former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan.
