Erode, Tamil Nadu:
Seven students of a local school were today injured when the van in which they were travelling overturned, police said.
Fifteen students, belonging to Bharathy Vidya Bhavan English medium school, were travelling in the vehicle when the mishap occurred at Veppampalayam near the LBP canal around 9 a.m, sources said.
The van is operating on contract basis with the school.
Students of a nearby private college rescued the children caught under the van. All the children were taken to a private hospital, where seven of them between the age group of five and seven,have been admitted. The injured included five girls.
The 50-year-old driver of the van has been taken into custody, police said.
