Senior Congress leader and Union Minister Vayalar Ravi on Sunday said an overhauling of the party structure in Kerala was on the cards to equip it to face the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
"A total restructure from madal (block) level to the state level is essential to prepare party workers for the elections in 2014. There should be proper discussion in Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee on it before completion of the process to avoid complaints later," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function in Thiruvananthapuram.
On the Ezhava community outfit SNDP Yogam's move to form a political platform, Mr Ravi said, "In a democratic set up, every organisation has the right to protest and protect its interests."
He, however, declined to comment when asked why the SNDP was prompted to make such a move.
