Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and several other senior leaders congratulated Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on his 52nd birthday on Thursday.
The Prime Minister, who was on a visit to Kerala, spoke to the Chief Minister over telephone from Kochi and wished him success in future, a release from the Chief Minister's Office said in Hyderabad.
Several Union and State Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs, top government officials and public representatives also met Mr Reddy and greeted him.
The Chief Minister's camp office wore a festive look, as hundreds of party workers along with state Labour Minister Danam Nagender visited the camp office to greet the Chief Minister. Earlier, Vedic pundits also blessed Mr Reddy.
Thousands of youth, students, party workers and women also reached the camp office and greeted the Chief Minister, who met them in the lawns, the release said.
Candidates who appeared for exams conducted by the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) met the Chief Minister and complained about problems like appointment letters not being issued them. Mr Reddy assured them that he would look into it, it said.
