Over 760 detained in Chennai during storming operation

Chennai: Over 760 people have been detained on various accounts by the city police during storming operation conducted on Saturday night.

Of the 769, 131 persons were detained under sections 109 and 110 of the CrPC, police said.

While 48 were detained under non-bailable warrant, 62 were detained for drunken driving, they said.

A sub-inspector and a head constable drawn from each police station in the city were part of the storming operation, which was conducted in many places including lodges.
