File picture

ThiruvananthapuramKerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Thursday said that there was no change in the state's opposition to Foreign Direct Investment in the retail sector and added that the government had not sent any letter to the Centre giving consent for it.

Media reports contrary to the state's stand were not true, Mr Chandy said, while responding to queries on the reported statement of Commerce Minister Anand Sharma that Kerala has agreed for FDI in retail sector.

Mr Chandy said it was he and KPCC Chief Ramesh Chennithala who first raised objection to the Centre's  decision to allow FDI in retail.
