Media has pivotal role in combating corruption, terror: Oommen Chandy

Kottayam: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Saturday said media had a pivotal role to play in the fight against communalism, terrorism and corruption in a democratic country like India.

Inaugurating the state media and photography award function in Kottayam, Chandy said all political parties had a role in combating the three challenges and media had a pivotal role.

Media whether print or visual should act as a corrective force in the society, he said.

Rural Development and Culture Minister K C Josph said the government will set up a media city on the lines of Dubai Media City at Eranakulam.

Media had an important role in the development of the state, he added.
