'Mahashivarathri' celebrated with fervour in Karnataka

Bangalore"Mahashivarathri" was celebrated with religious fervour in Karnataka today with a large number of devottes thronging shiva temples since early hours.

Devotees waited for hours together to have a glimpse of the famous 65-foot giant idol of Lord Shiva at the temple in the city.

This year's festivities were marked by spectacular programmes like special light and sound show.

The 24-hour live singing of devotional songs and CD release of RVM Shiv Bhajan Golden Collection by renowned Bhajan singers, Anup Jalota, Anuradha Paudwal evoked a huge response.

In other districts including Mysore, Mandya, Chitradurga, Davanagere, Hubli and Gulbarga also, the festival was celebrated in a grand manner.
