Kozhikode: Panakkad Hyderali Shihab Thangal was today unanimously elected as the Kerala state president of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the second largest constituent of the ruling United Democratic Front.
Speaking to reporters on Kozhikode today after IUML's State Council meeting, party senior leader E T Mohammed Basheer said K P A Majeed would continue to be the General Secretary.
A five-member high power committee had been constituted with Basheer, Thangal, Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty and party national president E Ahamed and Majeed.
The party had also chosen five secretaries and Vice Presidents, he said.
Former minister P K K Bawa, is the treasurer.
