Fishermen Withdraw Agitation in Tamil Nadu
Rameswaram: The fishermen who planned a series of agitations demanding the authorities for steps for the release of their counterparts and boats, arrested by Sri Lankan Navy from yesterday, withdrew their protests after Union minister of state Pon Radhakrishnan invited them for talks on August 14 at Chennai.

All fishermen's Association President S Emirit and Secretary Sesuraja said the agitations had been planned to press for the release the 64 boats and 93 fishermen under the custody of the Sri Lankan officials.

They also demanded proper security for fishermen fishing in the Palk Bay.
