Case Against Two NRIs for Altercation With Jet Airways Staff

Kochi, Kerala: Police have registered a case against two Non Resident Indian businessmen from Kerala for allegedly manhandling a staff of Jet Airways at the International airport in Kochi in an inebriated state.

According to the complaint filed before the airport police, the two businessmen, Ismail and Tahir, allegedly beat up the airline's staff last night at the airport.

The duo who were to board the Kochi-Sharjah flight, allegedly had an altercation with the airline staff while wanting to check in for their flight at a vacant counter without any printing/issuing facility for boarding passes, a Jet Airways spokesperson said in a statement.

Airport security were called in and the matter was handed over to authorities and further investigations are in progress, the statement said.

Police said that the two were arrested and granted bail on Tuesday.

The two, said to be members of the 50-member Norka Council, left for Sharjah on Wednesday morning by an Emirates flight.
