By-elections for one seat of Karnataka Legislative Council would be held on July 25, the Election Commission (EC) has announced.
The notification for the by-polls would be issued on July 7 and the last date for filing nominations will be July 14, the EC said.
After scrutiny on July 16, the last date for withdrawal of nominations is July 18.
While polling would be held on July 25 between 9 AM to 4 PM, counting would be held the same day at 5 PM.
The lone Karnataka Legislative Council seat going to polls fell vacant after the death of state Higher Education Minister V S Acharya on February 14 following a heart attack.
Acharya was attending a function in Bangalore when he collapsed on the dais and died. His term was to expire on June 30, 2014.
